Reflect....

Image
Reflect on yesterday. What is one thing that you did that you think you could do better today? Just pick one thing. Today, do it better! ******** The above is day 39 of the challenge. Welcome to Baby Steps Out.  This is a blog dedicated to helping you get out of a bad place by taking small steps.  It offers a challenge that can be done in less than 5 minutes each day.   The  introduction can be found here. If you would like to read each day separately, you can go back to the history of the blog.

Insanity

Image
“Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, but expecting different results.” ― Albert Einstein Think of one way today that you are practicing insanity. Determine to change the thing you are doing over and over again that isn't working.... The above is day 38 of the original challenge. ********** Welcome to Baby Steps Out.  This is a blog dedicated to helping you get out of a bad place by taking small steps.  It offers a challenge that can be done in less than 5 minutes each day.   The  introduction can be found here. I am going to stop posting links to previous posts.  If you would like to read each day separately, you can go back to the history of the blog. Have a great day everyone!

Two Challenges for your Monday

Image
Two challenges for today from days 36 and 37 of the original challenge from 2012. 1)   Today I want you to think of one challenge that I haven't thought of yet. Something that you think the rest of us could benefit by doing. This time, though, you have to comment and share it so that I can have everyone do it!     (I know, I know, this is kind of cheating, but coming up with something brand new every day can get a bit tricky!) 2)  Write a letter to yourself. Like the one in the post below.  (Actually an idea from challenge #1 back in 2012). http://myfivemen.blogspot.com/2012/01/dear-betsy.html ********** Welcome to Baby Steps Out.  This is a blog dedicated to helping you get out of a bad place by taking small steps.  It offers a challenge that can be done in less than 5 minutes each day.   The  introduction can be found here. Stop It!

Image
Just for today.... stop worrying! Philippians 4:6-7 (New Living Translation) Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ***** Now I want you to think of one thing that you like about yourself.  It can be one of things you listed on the day we did this exercise before, or something knew.    During the day today you are going to repeat that to yourself 20 times throughout the day. So, for example: I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about people. I deeply care about

Tell Yourself the Truth!

Image
Today I want you to tell yourself the truth about something. Oftentimes we meander through life believing lies. Things like "I can't do this. It's too hard." Or "everyone is out to get me." Or "Other people are the problem." Or "If so and so would just change...." So today I invite you to tell yourself the truth. "I can do ALL things through Christ who gives you strength." or "Most people are on my side." or "I can only change myself." You know what lie your telling yourself. Repeat the truth instead. Then listen to this song. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KwsvqVmFV6Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Today's challenge is two combined (which were days 32 and 33 of the original challenge five years ago). ********** Welcome to Baby Steps Out.  This is a blog dedicated to helping you get out o

Three things

Image
Since I didn't post the last few days due to illness, there are three tasks for today all bunched together. #1   This may seem like a weird thing to do, but if you use email much, this will help you feel less buried. Unsubscribe from 10 junk sites today. At the end of the email there is a place to do that. Get rid of them for the days to come. It will make you feel lighter! #2  Allow yourself to sit and do nothing but think for 3 minutes today. You'll be surprised how hard this is because our lives have become so cluttered. Think about where you have been, where you are now, and where you would like to be. Begin to plot how you are going to get there. #3   Let go of yesterday and start today Fresh. Here's a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spi

Reframing

Image
It's all about how you frame it. That's what I tell myself often. It's taking a situation that makes me anxious or upset and reframing it into something that I can accept or appreciate. Here is an example: Your kid will not leave you alone. He's by your side every waking hour. You can see him as a needy person or you can rejoice that he wants to be with you and that he is attaching. So, pick something today and reframe it. ********************* Welcome to Baby Steps Out.  This is a blog dedicated to helping you get out of a bad place by taking small steps.  It offers a challenge that can be done in less than 5 minutes each day.   The  introduction can be found here.
